EXAMPLE OF FLASH REDESIGN

This simple game was sent to me from the art director at
GroupMatrix in
New Orleans.

They had put together a simple game based on an existing "shoot the balloons" game, but there was no design implemented, and certain aspects of the game didn't work properly.
I searched online and found the original game and
redesigned it.

I added the design elements including fonts, colors, layout and images and redesigned the fighter.

Next, I took the existing code and modified it to make the hit button work more efficiently, re-installed the counter and repaired the exploding cars which before the revision, exploded at the top of the movie's y axis whether they were hit or not. I also adjusted the hand of the timer to move clockwise instead of counterclockwise. Also, yellow and red explosions were added to the exploding car movieclip when the cars are hit.

When the movie was sent to me, the fighter's arms would just move in and out in a loop, but without any control from the user. Now, he throws a mean right-hook whenever the user executes a mouse-down. The fighter was also redesigned so that his muscles are a little better defined, and the head is a simple oval.

The client was very pleased at the results.

You can try out the finished game in the panel to the right.
